I am writing to introduce myself to you, and to ask for your support as the next District 6 councilman for Sandy Springs.
After growing up in New Jersey, and spending the next dozen years living in the Northeast, South, and Midwest, I settled in Sandy Springs for good in 2002. I was lucky enough to meet my wife – a Georgia girl herself – right here in 2003, and we’re expecting our first child in September.
Civic involvement has always been an important part of my family’s life. My mother and father both held elected offices in New Jersey when I was a child, and they passed on to me the desire to give back to the community we call home – the City of Sandy Springs.
I’m extremely proud of our still new city, and the tremendous job our mayor and council has done over the last eight years. We have the opportunity to build on a great foundation, and I believe I can assist in making even more of our city’s dreams become a reality. Issues that affect our town and that resonate with me personally include:
- Preservation and improvement of our existing neighborhoods – including the addition of sidewalks and street lights where necessary and desired
- Strengthening the Sandy Springs tree ordinance, to balance the preservation of our valuable canopy with necessary development
- Shepherding the responsible development and implementation of the City Center Master Plan
- Encouraging economic development within our community with an eye toward both short term (increased jobs, improved tax base) and long term (stable and protected neighborhoods)
My background in finance and as a small business owner makes me the ideal candidate for city council to help Sandy Springs take the next step forward in our growth.
